BIO

 

A quiet and playful esk that lives in a creek underneath a huge highway bridge, though he enjoys hanging out in the company of any bridge. Block boy prefers to hide underground, with only the massive monolith upon his back exposed. He freely reveals himself to anyone, humans included, but they wouldn't even begin to think a giant ghost was attached to the bottom of that concrete block. Except, of course, he relocates every few days. Those things don't usually move by themselves. He's known as a cryptid, the spontaneously relocating concrete block always accompanied by his poisonous hogweed and a warning sign that seems to say something different every time you look at it.

 

Despite being abnormal, he only ever travels within the confines of the invasive range of giant hogweed. The reason for this is unknown. He prefers the company of living creatures to esk, he feels that many of them think he's ruining their boundaries with his presence.​

APPEARANCE

 

Block boy's mirror body mutation allows him to change colors depending on what material he stands on. When in the air or on a complex pattern he gets confused but he's good at mimicking.

 

Block boy can stretch his body to great lengths, but can't change his overall size. His concrete block is about 35 feet tall, with some parts faded and some appearing to be recently painted. It's surrounded by giant hogweed and sumac. There's a hornet nest wedged in a crack in the concrete block.

 

He has a sign on his head, the symbol on it changes every now and then. He likes to use symbols like arrows or pedestrians. Those who read it feel the need to obey whatever is written on it. Of course, those with strong willpower aren't much affected by it. ​

His sign used to be made out of wood, but none of his requests written on it were taken seriously by groups of "ghost hunters" so now he uses a metal warning sign.

Block boy was transformed by Faye. He doesn't know his creator that well and has rarely seen any of them since his transformation.

Block boy performs transformations, but not before he has a little fun with the recipient. He only transforms humans.

BACKSTORY

 

Block boy was... a concrete block. Long long ago it may have supported a bridge, but after years it became dilapidated and chipped, supporting nothing and standing alone underneath a much greater bridge. After some time, it was due for excavation but one esk came upon the pillar and was intrigued by its size and pointlessness.
